Family Violence Indicator: Arrests of Adults for Violent Sexual Offenses Committed against a Family Member

This indicator reflects the number of adult arrests made by law enforcement officials for violent sexual offenses—including forcible rape, forcible sodomy, statutory rape, sexual assault with an object, forcible fondling, and incest—perpetrated against a family member, as captured in the Incident Based Crime Reporting Repository System.

Family-Intimate Sexual Violent Arrests – FISV arrests are defined as arrests for sexual violent offenses in criminal incidents where sexual violence was reported to have occurred between family members and/or intimates, including rape, sodomy, sexual assault with an object, forcible fondling, statutory rape, and incest.
